Set out the two felt mushrooms and distribute the numbers from 1 to 10 over the correct mushroom.

Then give the child the creepy crawlies and let them place the correct number of animals next to each number.

For example: at the number 4, the child places four creepy crawlies on the mushroom. This makes it visible that the number 4 corresponds to a quantity of four.

You can make the activity increasingly difficult by letting the children choose a number themselves, counting the creepy crawlies, or comparing two quantities.
