Quique Collects the Alphabet – Elly van der Linden & Greet Bosschaert | Ages 4+

Quique verzamelt het alfabet is a cheerful and colorful picture book by Elly van der Linden, with beautiful illustrations by Greet Bosschaert. The story makes young children curious about letters and the alphabet in a playful way. 🐦📖

The little bird Quique really wants to learn how to write. He practices every day, but soon discovers a big problem: his own name is not that easy at all! After all, his name contains no less than two Qs – according to Quique, the trickiest letter in the whole alphabet. 😉

So he comes up with a clever plan. He goes looking for other birds, because maybe they know which letter their name starts with. This is how he meets the merel, the lijster and the ekster. Together they help Quique collect all the letters of the alphabet step by step.

But Quique needs some special help with certain letters. At the end of his adventure, he meets three funny imaginary birds: Coucou, Xaxa and Ylly. 🐦✨

At the bottom of each page, the alphabet is gradually filled in with the letters Quique discovers along the way. This allows children not only to follow the alphabet in the story, but also to see it grow visually.
